Just 5 more days!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I just love to say that. I guess I am not "politically correct", but I have to tell you - I DON'T CARE! I find it kind of humorous that everyone wants all the perks that Christmas has to bring, but they don't want to celebrate the Christ of Christmas. Well, maybe it's more sad than it is humorous.
All that being said, I hope and pray that each and everyone that reads this blog would come to personally know the Savior OF THE WORLD - who is Christ the Lord. I challenge you to read the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and learn for yourself who this person Jesus really is. Let me share with you a great passage of Scripture to explain a little bit of who He is:

Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This passage is one of the most powerful sections in all of Scripture! I challenge you to take some time and really read it over again and ponder the powerful message. Jesus was God and He humbled Himself and put skin on to ultimately die for your sin and mine. And one day...one day every single person is going to bow their knee and confess with their mouth the name JESUS!

Jesus Christ is the only possible way for any person to have a relationship with God. Why not confess His name now while you have the chance, and not wait to do it when you are forced to - then it will be too late to spend eternity with God.

May each and everyone of you have a very Merry Christmas!

Change is GOOD...right?

Don't you just love change? Well, I am not a huge fan of change, but sometimes it is a really good thing!
Here in Western New York we have definitely had a change in seasons. Temperatures have drop, considerably, and the snow has fallen...and there is much more to come I'm sure. I have just moved from one house to another on the same property. And...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, my favorite celebration of all.
It's time to celebrate the greatest gift ever given to mankind - that precious little baby that was wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. The Savior of the world came to bring about change in the hearts of all mankind. About 30 years after His birth that Savior said these words:

John 14:6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life - NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me." Now that statement requires a total change for every man, woman and child. On our own we cannot ever have a relationship with God because we will never be "good enough." We can't earn our way or work our way or do anything on our own strength and power to reach God or heaven. What we must do is accept that gift given by God and change or repent of our sins and turn from our sin and live for God.
That's the change that for all of us that is difficult. Why? Because we are sinners and we have a nature that we were born with desires to do things that are contrary to God's way of doing things. It is a battle every single day to do what's right in God's eyes. But I believe it is a battle that we can win with the help of God's Holy Spirit.
Is it time for you to "change" and allow God to be the focus of your life? Things don't magically become perfect but let me tell you from personal experience: Being a follower of Jesus Christ is the greatest life EVER!
I pray during this Christmas season you find out the Truth for yourself if you haven't already, and give your life to the One who created you!
